Welcome to Raisethorpe Secondary School, one of the schools of choice in Pietermaritzburg. I started my teaching career at Raisethorpe, and I can confidently state that this school is in my blood. Over this period, I have been privileged to have witnessed our school grow in leaps and bounds. We have always been committed to the provision of quality education, and, in doing so, we have established a strong and well-respected profile in the community.
While Raisethorpe Secondary is noted for its academic excellence and its impressive Senior Certificate results, our learners have also excelled over a diverse range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. In addition, in keeping with our vision of holistic education, the school has been instrumental in instilling and re-inforcing the uniquely South African concept of Ubuntu, in the form of its many social responsibility and community outreach programmes. I believe that education is a partnership, and, as reach new horizons as a school, we are committed to forging and strengthening meaningful partnerships with all our stakeholders.
